Buddy/ Friend
Do you have a little corner in your life to be a buddy to a young lady with an intellectual disability?
This fun-loving lady enjoys a wide variety of activities like dog walking, throwing or kicking a ball in the park, water pistol fights, dancing, singing, dinner out, attending sports events and concerts, baking, window shopping, doing puzzles, dressing up, and doing hair and makeup.
Sometimes she needs a little motivation to get out of lazy mode, but responds well to firmness and a bit of sass. She loves an argument and light-hearted bantering.
She communicates at a pre-school level and has epilepsy. She also needs a bit of help with toileting.
Being a buddy/friend offers the people we support the opportunity to enjoy everyday things, form relationships, and feel more connected to their community.
