Special Olympics Swimming Coach

The Special Olympics swimming team in Mount Roskill is currently looking to recruit a new swimming coach for their athletes. The coach attends weekly swimming training sessions, once or twice per week and accompanies the team to swimming events that are held every 3 to 4 months. Your role will be to give clear instructions to the athletes to improve their strokes and overall swimming techniques.


The ideal applicant will have swimming knowledge and skills to share with our athletes. More importantly, someone who is fun, open-minded, caring, and willing to adjust any coaching skills to suit the athletes we support. Also to be available to attend training sessions and be a good role model to help the athletes work towards their goals. Be encouraging & willing to support a great bunch of athletes.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:00pm and/or Sunday 4:00pm to 5:00pm. These training sessions are held at Cameron Pools, Mount Roskill.

This role is an ongoing commitment. Ideally, applicants would also be available to attend weekend swimming events. These events take place every 3-4 months.
