Our Connecting People With Parks programme, in partnership with Auckland Council, runs every second Tuesday. On this programme volunteers come to our offices ready typically for an 8am departure and we then take you out in our van to the project and return you no later than 3pm. If you prefer you can also meet us onsite. For all our projects you are assisted by a qualified team leader who guides you through the tasks and can help you to identify and learn about native species of fauna and flora and conservation. Tasks range according to the season and the specific needs of the park. Activities may include tree planting, nursery work, mulching, weed removal, litter clean up etc.
What to bring: Gumboots or closed toe shoes, appropriate clothing, rain and sun protective gear. We provide all tools and equipment needed for each activity. Limited transport available, make sure to book your seat. Please note: Children 12 years and under are to be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Please note: Our Connecting People with Parks volunteer days are our smallest volunteer days with a maximum of 10 volunteers each day so may not be suitable for large groups.
8:30am - 3pm onsite. Meeting time at our office is 8am if you would like a ride to site in our van.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
