Auckland South Corrections Facility Mentor
The volunteer mentoring programme is a structured programme to support paiaaki (men in our care) with reintegrative support pre and post release. We provide you with the training and induction to visit paiaaki on site at regular intervals at a time that suits both you and the paiaaki.
You are matched with a suitable mentee and supported by an appointed team member of Community Reintegration Services who will assist and guide you through your own development.
Must pass Ministry Of Justice (MoJ) clearance
Need to attend an Induction session at the prison
Be willing to provide comprehensive feedback on completed sessions
Great communication skills
A desire to make a positive difference
Non-judgmental
Provide sound advice and guidance - to motivate and support where necessary
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
