Connecting People with Parks - Apirana Reserve
This project is part of our Connecting People With Parks programme, in partnership with Auckland Council, which runs every second Tuesday and sometimes over the weekend. Every second week we travel to an urban park in need throughout Auckland and undertake a variety of conservation tasks including weed removal, mulching, litter removal, nursery work, and planting. On the 1st of November we will be heading to Apirana Reserve for some much needed weed removal and tree releasing. For all our projects you are assisted by a qualified team leader who guides you through the tasks and can help you to identify and learn about native species of fauna and flora and conservation.
Please note: As this volunteer day is on Auckland Council land, all volunteers and CVNZ staff will need to present their vaccine pass on the day in accordance with Auckland Council's COVID-19 Policy. No experience is required as you will be guided by our team leader who will be with you on site throughout. We will provide all the tools you need for the work. We recommend all volunteers wear sturdy boots/shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Auckland's weather can also be unpredictable, so bring with you a sun hat and a waterproof jacket. BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL
We will start at 8:30am onsite and will finish before 3pm. If you would like to get a ride in our van the meeting time at our office will be 8am.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
