YANZ Funding Lead
Kia ora! Are you a proficient storyteller and/or grant writer? If so, we want to hear from you! YANZ is looking to grow its impact over the coming year, and we are in need of some support with fundraising to help resource our operations.
YANZ runs initiatives that range from Te Kāhui - our creative writing programme for young inmates - to paid gig work opportunities, internships in the creative sector and educational offerings. Our youth-led team has delivered some awesome projects and events over the last year, and we're now looking to get some more sustainable funding to continue our mahi.
If you connect with our kaupapa, and feel as though you would enjoy and success in this fundraising role, please get in touch!
This newly-established voluntary funding position will be primarily responsible for:
- Maintaining the YANZ funding database and notifying the CEO when there is applicable funding approaching;
- Writing and submitting grant applications on behalf of the YANZ team;
- Supporting with conceptualisation of projects from a funding perspective;
- Scoping new opportunities for funding.
The funding we apply for varies from small-scale project funding to larger operational funding. We would greatly appreciate support from someone who can tell a great story and share with funders the impact of our mahi. A huge amount of experience is not required; we are more looking for someone who can turn a project or story into a clear, concise and impact-oriented funding request.
Roughly 5 hours per week, although time will vary quite a bit depending on upcoming funding rounds etc. Ideally you would be flexible with your hours and time commitment, we are very happy to work in with you and your other commitments :)
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
