Got your degree but need some experience? Here’s a wonderful summer internship that will put you in good stead for those hot employers in the future. You can be one rung up the ladder in a matter of months!

Hospice West Auckland is coming up to their busy summertime campaign season and we need a superstar to help take the lead in our Trees of Remembrance campaign along with other events.

You will have the opportunity to learn about fundraising, events, marketing and volunteer management through our Christmas and Summer campaigns. You will be supported by a Fundraising team who are driven to bring in essential income, so that our amazing teams of doctors, nurses, counsellors and therapists can continue to be out in the community providing essential end of life care for our patients and their families, free of charge, whenever they need us.

In this role you will get involved with:
Co-ordination of volunteers
Recruitment and training of volunteers
Managing of rosters and volunteer shifts
Christmas tree installation at key sites, total setup and packdown
Being that ‘go-to’ person for key questions, queries and issues
Supporting ‘Light up’ Hospice event
Involved in ad-hoc marketing functions and support in general

Requirements:

What we need from you
To hit the ground, you will need loads of ENERGY!
Be confident, flexible and want to learn
Your strengths will include proactiveness, thinking outside the square and problem-solving
You will be a natural people person and have the ability to engage with all types of people, building rapport quickly
It’s essential you are be available from 2 November to 31 January and some weekend days will be required.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Commitment of three months, from 2 November to 31 January.
