Special Olympics Manukau Swim Coach

Ideally our volunteer will have a passion for working with people with intellectual disabilities and seeing the athletes achieve in and outside the swimming pool. Be committed to attending weekly trainings and attend ribbon day's events held once a month. Applicants ideally live in the South Auckland area.


All applicants must be police vetted using the online police process.

All our volunteers and athletes must have their second vaccination. This will be required to show at the first training session if you are successful.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Swimming trainings are to start after the school holidays. Held at Papatoetoe swimming pool once a week Tuesday 5pm-6pm. There will be ribbon day events held once every month that the Special Olympics Manukau club would love you to attend. These are held mostly on a Saturday or perhaps a Sunday at 9am-4pm. Seeing the athletes is train is one small part of the role. Watching the athletes faces lite up when they compete on a ribbon day against their friends from other clubs is not to be missed.
