Empower Youth is looking for a Treasurer to assist with financial oversight, planning, budgeting, and reporting for Empower as necessary. The Treasurer will prepare financial reports for the organisation to comply with charities obligations, advise on tax compliance, ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements, forecast cash flow positions and funds available, and assist in the preparation of budgets within funding bids, working closely with the funding team.

The successful applicant will have a degree in Accounting/Finance/ or other relevant Business Studies and be proficient with financial software systems. Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel. Financial management skills and knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations.

Must be well organised and able to keep good records. A Ministry of Justice check will be required if you decide to take part in the mentoring and workshop aspects beyond this role, as we deal with vulnerable at-risk youth.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We anticipate 2-4 hours of work per week. We meet as a team (digitally through Zoom) weekly on Monday nights.
