20 September 2019

This Friday 20th September the businesses in the Silverdale area will be coming out to plant trees that will assist with controlling sediment and pollutants entering the river as well as providing improved habitat for native fauna. Come along and help us prepare for each of these planting days (you can come to one, two or all three) by laying out plants, planting trees and controlling weed species on the site in preparation for plantings in future years.

For all our projects you are assisted by a qualified team leader who guides you through the tasks and can help you to identify and learn about native species of fauna and flora and conservation. We provide all tools and equipment.

Requirements:

Love of the outdoors and an interest in conservation. No experience required and there will be training onsite. On project you need to wear sturdy boots/shoes or gumboots, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, bring with you a sun hat, waterproof jacket.

Time commitment:

Planting will kick off at 3pm - meeting place is the end of Manga Rd in Silverdale. We can also provide transport from our office in Eden Terrace and would love some help from volunteers willing to arrive early to help set up. Meeting time at our office is 12pm, or meet us on site at 3pm. Booking required.
