Highwic - Front of house

The front of house team fosters interest and knowledge of Highwic and the Buckland family through welcoming visitors to Highwic and introducing them to the house and the family story. They will be telling the story of the house and the Buckland family that lived here to local visitors and from overseas. The role includes selling memberships and merchandise in our shop, and from time to time the volunteer may be asked to assist with other tasks. There will be initial training in the use of the till and there is on-going support to learn and tell 'the story'.


A good level of spoken English.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We are looking for at least one day a week for either a morning or afternoon shift. The house is open from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, and volunteers will need to arrive 15 minutes before we open in the morning and stay until 2 pm for the morning shift. The afternoon session starts at 1:45 to 4:45 pm.
