Henderson Hospice Shop

There's always something new, something different and new people to meet when you come and volunteer at our Hospice shops. Ever wanted to get some retail skills, work on a till? Or being front of house and helping customers find what they want? We are especially looking for till operators for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

This is a great way to contribute to your local community, meet people, learn new skills and stay active. It's busy! You will also learn to use our new Point of Sale system, as well as represent Hospice West Auckland. If you can commit to at least six months or longer, can see yourself in our busy stores and would like to be a Hospice Ambassador, We'd love to hear from you what attracts you to this role.

Requirements:

Excellent communication and English language skills; Be well presented and confident in working with the public; A helpful attitude and willingness to go the extra mile; Flexibility and reliability are essential; Ability to learn fast and be proactive in a busy environment.
Customer service skills/retail experience desirable.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We are looking for a minimum of three hours or your time per week, and would welcome more if you are available. Morning shifts are 9:00am to 12:30pm. Afternoon shifts are 1:00pm to 4:30pm. We are looking for a long term commitment for this role and it is not suited to short term volunteering.
At this stage we are especially needing till operators for Friday and Saturday.
