Wood Workshop Assistant

This role specifically supports clients who have experienced a neurological or physical injury or are experiencing the symptoms of a deteriorating neurological disease. Woodworking is incorporated into rehabilitation programmes to allow clients to learn new skills and adaptive techniques to navigate their condition and promote independence. You will be offering assistance when tasks become too challenging or simply providing guidance. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who are wood work hobbyists and wish to use their skills to give back to the community.

Volunteers are supported by our Wood Workshop Manager and a 30 minute Health & Safety induction will take place on your first shift. This covers fire evacuation, emergency procedures and manual wheelchair operation.

The ideal candidate will have previous woodworking experience and a polite, a caring nature and the ability to engage with others.
Be available for a three month commitment to the role to maintain continuity for our clients.

A Police background check is required for this role.
