Environment Reserve Maintenance - Project Twin Streams

We are looking for volunteers to help us to maintain 3 reserves based in Waitakere Ranui. There is a range of tasks such as nursery maintenance, planting and re-potting. Planting natives in the reserves during the Matariki planting season. There is mulching, weeding, picking up rubbish, and from time to time water monitoring. Our aim is to restore the environment by planting more trees and weeding in these reserves that run along streamside, and maintain these areas for public use.

Volunteers will be supervised and supported by our Environment Navigator. We run through health and safety for each group and all equipment is provided, including boots, spades and gloves.

Requirements:

Have an interest in conservation and be reasonably fit enough to walk in the reserves and lift weeds and plants. Be able to take direction, work as part of a team, and have an enthusiastic and positive attitude. Previous experience helpful but not required.

Time commitment:

Friday mornings from 10:00am to 12:00pm. During Planting season we will have specified days for planting.
