Driving and Companionship

We are looking for warm-hearted fully licensed drivers with a reliable vehicle to drive our guests from their homes to their local Selwyn Centre for the morning and, if possible, back home again. You are welcome to stay and and join in or help out with morning tea and activities but you don’t have to, you can leave and if you have time, come back to take our guests home again

If you can only do one way we would still like to hear from you. If you have some mornings free during the week, enjoy driving and making a difference in the lives of elders in our communities we need your help. Alternatively if you would like to help out at a Selwyn Centre then we would also like to hear from you.


Current driver's license and clean driving record. A reliable car with current WOF, registration and insurance. Be reliable and must have patience and an interest in people and their stories. Have common sense, and a sense of humour, and a good level of English and communication skills.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

This will vary according to the location of the Selwyn Centre and the guests homes and whether the volunteer would like to stay at the session. Most sessions are between 9:30am – 12 or 12:30.
