Website Designer with Disability

A disability group that works to help build websites for Not for Profit organisations is looking for web designers with a disability, or who has experience with disability, to become part of their team. The work benefits both NfP organisations that we support and the coaching of disabled PC users. The role will require the volunteer to design and update websites as well as to provide guidance and training on how to use computers and other software to people with disabilities .


Volunteers will need to know CSS, HTML and Java script and WordPress (must have comfort with the command line). WordPress is one of the ways we create websites so volunteers must be able to create plug ins. Volunteers must be able to work as part of a team. Be able to teach other disabled people different kinds of software and computer skills. Ability to perform manual work on computers will be required. Long term availability is a must. Work is done mainly from the volunteer’s home.

Time commitment:

Volunteers will be expected to commit to 1 to 3 hours a day during weekdays, dependent on type of work - coaching or website development. We are looking for a long term commitment, this role is not suitable for short term volunteers.
