Support Work Assistant

We are an NfP organisation offering support to single fathers and we are looking for a volunteer to assist the support worker in welcoming clients, making coffee and managing times and appointments, helping with client notes and filing.

The purpose of the role is the assist the support worker with the work of our organisation and the high need in the community.

The volunteer will work alongside the support worker and general manager, mainly taking guidance from the support worker and possibly needing external supervision if the work develops into direct work with clients.


We prefer that the volunteer is a dad and that he can relate to dads of all ages and all cultures. Keyboard or some general office skills and good communication skills are required for this role as the volunteer may be required to type and fill in client details on a database and assist with making phone calls to existing clients. You will need to have empathy and compassion for fathering.
Criminal background check required.

Time commitment:

We are open work days 10am - 3pm, wednesday nights we run a group 7-9pm
Minimum three month commitment expected.
