Role: Trustee
Tasks:
Governing overview of VA's mission and strategy;
Skill Requirements:
An understanding of a value-add community development model and where volunteering fits within this;
and / or knowledge of how local government works in particular the submission process;
and / or knowledge of how central governement works in particular the submission process;
and / or knowledge of community organisations and where volunteering fits within their structure and service delivery
Time Commitment: Board of Trustees meets monthly [2nd Friday morning 7-9am]; depending on portfolio aditional hours [maximum about 15 hours per monthy]
Role: Referral Officer
Tasks:
Meet with [interview system] and have a chat with people who are wanting to volunteer; determine what they want to do and make a match from our database of voluntary roles.
Skill Requirements:
Good communication skills;
good data entry skills and
good record-keeping skills
Time Commitment: Initially training [buddied with existing RO] 2 days per week [usually 2-3 weeks] until able to undertake role on own then 1 half or full day per week - between 9.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday only
Role: Volunteer Desk
Tasks:
Front line position;
Greeting visitors to office;
Responding to phone and email enquiries
Skill Requirements:
Good communications skills;
Good data entry skills and
Good record-keeping skills
Time Committment: Initially training [buddied with existing VolDesk] 2 days per week [usually 2-3 weeks] until able to undertake role on own then 1 half or full day per week - between 9.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday only
