Volunteering Auckland Strategic Plan 2007 - 2017
Process:
Strategic Plan – reviewed annually, formed by Trust Board giving direction and focus to Volunteering Auckland looking 10 years ahead
Business Plan – formed by management and approved by Trust Board with detailed implementation covering objectives, marketing, finance etc. Formed each year and to operate from 1 July to 30 June
Annual Report – reporting on business plan for previous year and presented at the Trust Board AGM and membership functions within 3 months of end of financial year (by end September).
Strategic Plan Goals:
1. Making Volunteering Accessible
1.1 Running an effective and efficient volunteer centre according to national guidelines
1.2 Reaching out to more NFP organisations to engage potential partners
1.3 To move toward easy self registration and communication of all volunteer opportunities on the web.
1.4 Knowing and plugging gaps and targeting community groups not fully represented in volunteering to ensure all ages, cultural and social economic groups have access to volunteer opportunities
2. Supporting organisations which involve volunteers
2.1 Developing, encouraging and supporting good practice in volunteer management practices
2.2 Developing relationships with key volunteer agencies including central and local government
2.3 To have 70 % of significant NFP community organisations registered by 2017
3. Promoting Volunteering
3.1 Working with local government to ensure there are high level policies to encourage volunteering in the community
3.2 Undertaking research and education to enhance the importance of volunteering
3.3 Liaising and working with other stakeholders at a national and international level to enhance volunteering in Greater Auckland
3.4 Have majority of Aucklanders know of Volunteering Auckland by 2017
3.5 Targeting the majority of significant corporate and government organisations to have volunteer statements in their business plans
